Additionally, developers posted specific quotes from the Kingdom Hearts franchise. Based on these teasers, character skins for ‘Riku’, ‘Kairi’, and ‘Roxas’ will likely appear during the event. Currently, Epic Games has not revealed the specific outfits for Riku, Kairi, and Roxas. Likewise, players do not yet know how to unlock these character skins.
Mythic Weapons & Override Theme
Moreover, the crossover introduces the iconic ‘Kingdom Key’ to the island. Epic Games confirmed the weapon will appear as a Mythic item. Interestingly, developers altered the weapon slightly. They replaced the classic Mickey Mouse keychain emblem with a Fortnite Supply Llama.
This Kingdom Hearts crossover serves as part of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, subtitled Override. Epic Games launched the season on August 20 across all supported platforms. The Override theme heavily features various video game franchises. For instance, players already saw cameos from Sonic the Hedgehog, Street Fighter, Mega Man, and Tetris. Ultimately, players have less than two months to enjoy this content, because the season ends on Halloween weekend.
Future Events & Kingdom Hearts 4 News
Following the end of Chapter 7 Season 4, Epic Games will launch the annual Fortnitemares Halloween event in October. Afterward, a rumored mini-season will run throughout November. For context, a similar mini-season in 2025 featured The Simpsons. According to current rumors, the November 2026 mini-season might feature a One Piece collaboration. Separately, Epic Games also teased a future skin for the popular VTuber ‘Ironmouse’.
Meanwhile, the Kingdom Hearts franchise continues to build momentum. Recently, Disney and Square Enix shared new details regarding Kingdom Hearts 4 at the D23 event. Specifically, developers confirmed that Sora will explore a world based on Pixar’s ‘Coco’. Finally, Kingdom Hearts 4 will arrive on all current-gen platforms in late 2027. Creative Studio 1 is actively developing the sequel.
