NADRA Issues Warning on Fraudulent NICOP Website Targeting Expats

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued a warning to overseas Pakistanis, particularly those in the United Kingdom, about a fraudulent website posing as the official authority. The fake platform, operating under the name “NADRA Card Centre” at nadra.cardcentre.co.uk, claims to offer services such as NICOP processing, ID card issuance, and job opportunities.

NADRA clarified that the site is not affiliated with the authority and is exploiting its name to deceive users. Officials warned that submitting personal information on this platform could result in identity theft or financial fraud. The authority has filed a complaint with the National Cyber Crime Agency, urging rapid action against those behind the scam.

In a separate advisory, NADRA urged married citizens to update their marital status in its official records. Many individuals have registered marriages with Union Councils but have not updated NADRA’s database, which may lead to legal complications.

To facilitate updates, NADRA has launched an SMS reminder service, prompting citizens to visit the nearest center. Mobile users can dial 1777, while landline users may call 051-111-786-100. Applicants may also visit NADRA’s official website.

A fee of Rs 100 is required to update marital status on a CNIC, listed as an “unprintable alteration.” Applicants must provide supporting documents, such as a marriage certificate or Nikahnama.
