Grand Theft Auto VI remains one of the most anticipated titles in gaming history. Fans anxiously await every update, and a recent leak has provided a fresh look at the game’s development. A former Rockstar Games employee released a demo reel that includes early in-development footage of GTA VI. This footage surfaces amidst high hype, coming nearly two years after the record-breaking official reveal in December 2023.

The leaked demo reel showcases specific animations that hint at returning and new features. One clip highlights a generic player character interacting with a bike rental station. The footage demonstrates animations for paying to secure a bike, as well as mounting and dismounting. This confirms that the bicycle rental shops, first seen in GTA 5, will return in the sequel.
Additionally, the leak suggests major upgrades to vehicle interactions. Another clip features protagonist Lucia Caminos hopping off the roof of a pickup truck. The animations imply that players can ride in the bed of pickup trucks. This feature could allow trucks to carry more passengers, significantly impacting GTA VI and its online variant. The demo reel also included animations from Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA 5, and Max Payne 3.
The leaks and rumours paint a vivid picture of the game’s setting. GTA VI marks the franchise’s first return to Vice City since 2007’s Vice City Stories. The new Florida-inspired environment will reportedly feature deeper environments and far more interior spaces to explore than past games.
Rockstar is also expanding available activities. Players can expect new challenges like hunting and scuba diving alongside classic mini-games. Furthermore, combat may feel familiar to fans of Rockstar’s other titles; rumours suggest a revamped cover system inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2. With protagonists Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval leading the story, fans are eager to see how these features come together in 2026.
The road to launch has seen adjustments. Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI is now scheduled to release on November 19, 2026. This announcement follows a delay from the previously expected debut date of May 26. Consequently, the game will launch more than 12 years after GTA 5.
Despite the wait, excitement continues to build. The Game Awards recently nominated GTA VI for “Most Anticipated Game” for the second consecutive year, after it won the award last year.
