New Job Portal Launched by Sindh Govt to Tackle Unemployment

KARACHI: The Sindh government has officially launched a job portal designed to connect job seekers with opportunities in both the public and private sectors.

The launch event was attended by prominent figures, including Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, and members of the business community.

Speaking at the ceremony, Sharjeel Inam Memon highlighted that the job portal is open to both skilled professionals and individuals with minimal education. He noted that 65% of Pakistan’s population is under the age of 35, making it essential to provide accessible employment opportunities.

“This platform allows all job seekers—regardless of education level—to upload their resumes and explore available job openings,” Memon stated.

He further emphasized that the portal is not limited to government jobs, as private companies are also encouraged to post vacancies, expanding opportunities across multiple industries.

Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah underscored the importance of the portal in driving economic growth. By enabling youth registration and providing access to job listings, the initiative aims to strengthen Sindh’s workforce.

“This platform is designed to help connect talent with the right opportunities. Employers and job seekers should take full advantage of it,” he said.

Transparent Hiring Process

To ensure fairness and transparency, Murad Ali Shah confirmed that:

  • Government job vacancies from Grade 1 to Grade 4 will be advertised on the portal.
  • Positions from Grade 5 to Grade 15 will continue to be filled through IBA testing.
  • Temporary job opportunities will also be available.

Additionally, efforts will be made to promote the portal and attract maximum registrations.

Murad Ali Shah reaffirmed the Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) commitment to the welfare of Sindh’s people. Despite challenges such as devastating floods, he stated that the government remains focused on initiatives like the People’s Housing Scheme, which aims to construct 2.1 million homes as envisioned by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

“This job portal is another step towards empowering our people and strengthening our economy,” he concluded.
