New Ramadan Timings Announced for Schools in Islamabad

The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has officially released the revised academic schedule for Ramadan 2026. Issued today, February 18, 2026, the notification outlines new Ramadan timings detailing the opening and closing times for all educational institutions under the FDE’s ambit in Islamabad.

This decision applies to all Islamabad Model Schools and Colleges, as well as Ex-F.G. Colleges in both urban and rural areas.

Updated Ramadan Timings: Single & Double Shift Institutions

For institutions operating on a single-shift basis, the day will start at 08:00 AM sharp. However, closing times will vary slightly depending on the day of the week.

  • Monday to Thursday: 08:00 AM to 12:30 PM
  • Friday: 08:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Schools and colleges running double shifts will follow a tighter schedule to accommodate both morning and evening classes effectively.

Morning Shift:

  • Monday to Friday: 08:00 AM to 12:30 PM

Evening Shift:

  • Monday to Thursday: 12:30 PM to 04:30 PM
  • Friday: 01:30 PM to 04:30 PM

Directives for Ex-F.G. Colleges

Ex-F.G. Colleges will follow the same schedule as single-shift institutions. Classes will run from 08:00 AM to 12:30 PM from Monday through Thursday, closing early at 12:00 PM on Fridays.

The FDE has directed all Area Education Officers to ensure these timings are implemented in “true letter and spirit” immediately. This notification was issued with the approval of the Director General (FDE) and signed by Assistant Director (Academics) Abid Ali Khan.
