No Pakistani university has secured a place among the top 400 institutions in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027. The University of Oxford topped the global rankings, while MIT, Princeton University, Stanford University, and the University of Cambridge were among the top 10.
A total of 56 Pakistani universities were included in the global rankings. Quaid-i-Azam University was Pakistan’s highest-ranked institution, placed in the 551–600 band, followed by NUST in the 601–650 band and COMSATS University in the 651–700 band.
Bahauddin Zakariya University, the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, and the University of Lahore were placed in the 701–800 band. Air University, GCU Faisalabad, International Islamic University, Gomal University, and Punjab University ranked in the 801–1000 band, while LUMS and several other universities were placed in lower ranking bands.
