Nothing is preparing to jump into cross-platform sharing after Google’s latest move sparked industry attention. The company’s founder and CEO, Carl Pei, revealed that Nothing is already exploring support for Apple’s AirDrop through Android’s updated Quick Share system. His comments arrive shortly after Google confirmed that Quick Share now works with AirDrop, although the feature is limited to the Pixel 10 series.
Pei did not share a release window or any technical details. However, he made it clear that Nothing wants to bring this capability to its phones as quickly as possible. His response also signals that Android manufacturers are watching Google’s experiment closely, especially since Pixel-only features often expand to the wider Android ecosystem later on.
Google’s current setup works without any extra steps. When an Android user sends a file to an iPhone, the option appears in Quick Share. When an iPhone sends a file to Android, the option appears in AirDrop. The system operates instantly on the Pixel 10 family, setting a new baseline for cross-platform sharing.
Nothing now aims to match that level of simplicity. The company has not detailed its approach, but its early interest suggests that seamless Android-to-iOS sharing may reach more devices soon. As Pei pushes for faster integration, users could see a more unified experience across both platforms in the near future.
