Overwatch 2 has officially revealed a brand-new Mythic hero skin, Cyber Fuel Junkrat. The new skin transforms the fan-favourite demolitionist into a neon-soaked cyberpunk character straight out of Cyberpunk 2077. It’s the second Mythic hero skin in Overwatch 2 Season 19 and is now available in the Mythic Shop following the midseason update.
Like every new season, Overwatch 2 Season 19 kicked off with a Mythic skin, Divine Druid Lifeweaver. However, for the first time in the game’s history, Blizzard dropped a second Mythic hero skin midseason, giving players an unexpected treat in the form of Cyber Fuel Junkrat.
Cyber Fuel Junkrat blends chaos and high-tech flair. The skin features bright colours, neon spray paint, and futuristic sound elements inspired by Overwatch 2’s Hazard and Phreaks. Players who fully unlock it can toggle a transformative visual mode that changes Junkrat’s skin to bright purple while adding a holographic skull mask, making him look more fearsome and cooler than ever.
The Cyber Fuel Junkrat skin follows Overwatch 2’s streamlined four-tier Mythic unlock system, costing a total of 80 Mythic Prisms.
Once fully unlocked, players can purchase Gilded or Iridescent Aspects for extra personalisation.
The new Cyber Fuel Junkrat skin has received overwhelming praise from the Overwatch 2 community. Reportedly, many fans are calling it the best Mythic hero skin so far. Some even say they wish they had skipped Divine Druid Lifeweaver to save their Mythic Prisms for this one.
However, the update has also highlighted a growing issue in the game’s Mythic Prism economy. Between Divine Druid Lifeweaver, Cyber Fuel Junkrat, and the Spirit Keeper Kiriko Mythic weapon skin, players would need a total of 240 Mythic Prisms to unlock all three. Since the Premium Battle Pass only includes 80 Mythic Prisms per season, players may find it harder to keep up with these high-end cosmetics.
Whether Blizzard continues this two-Mythic-skin-per-season pattern remains to be seen. But one thing’s certain, Cyber Fuel Junkrat has set a new visual standard for future Mythic hero skins in Overwatch 2.
