The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has ordered employees, union members and officials to refrain from criticising the federal government or the authority, warning that violations will be treated as misconduct under its service regulations.
The directive, issued in a formal order, states that any criticism shared on social media or other public platforms will be considered misconduct.
It instructs employees not to publish, share, endorse or circulate any statement, allegation, comment, post, audio or video message that criticises the federal government or any action taken by CAA.
The order also bars employees from spreading defamatory or unauthorised statements against public office holders of the federal government, the authority, or any government or public sector institution.
It further prohibits criticism of any government policy, decision or public action.
Employees have been directed to avoid publishing any such material. The order states that employees, union members or officials found violating these instructions will face action under the relevant laws.
The directive takes effect immediately.
