The Ministry of Defence Production organized an interactive session in Rawalpindi today, focusing on drone technology development and public‑private collaboration.
The meeting was chaired by Secretary Defence Production, Lieutenant General (Retired) Muhammad Chiragh Haider, at the Directorate General Research and Development Establishment.
Participants highlighted drones’ decisive role in modern warfare, surveillance, intelligence gathering, border monitoring, and precision operations, citing lessons from recent global conflicts.
Private companies presented operational challenges, concerns, and recommendations directly to the Ministry of Defence Production, emphasizing industry requirements for sustainable growth.
Secretary Defence Production assured participants recommendations would be incorporated into policy formulation, supporting regulatory procedures, procurement mechanisms, and research initiatives.
The session concluded with a shared commitment to strengthen cooperation between state institutions and private firms, accelerating locally produced unmanned aerial capabilities.
