Pakistan faces huge internet outage due to PTCL cable fault

PTCL and cellular services were interrupted in major parts of Pakistan as a result of some technical fault in fiber optics used in PTCL network.

The services of Pakistan Telecommunication Company, Vfone, DSL, Ufone, landline and others were disrupted by a massive outage on PTCL network. Major areas of Punjab, Sindh KPK and Balochistan were affected by the glitch. PTCL announced on Facebook,

“We are currently facing major outage on our network due to which internet service to some of our customers is impacted. Our teams are working on-ground to restore the service as soon as possible. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused.”

PTCL services are getting restored in all the areas gradually.

Internet speed also degraded a couple of days ago because of a fault in the submarine cable. PTCL is the leading telecommunication service provider in Pakistan. It provides telephonic and internet services.

PTCL officials confirmed that repair work is underway and services will be restored in all the areas of the country soon.
