Recent statistics released by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) show that more than 3.94 million 3G/4G users were added in the last 4 months effectively increasing our mobile broadband user base to more than 60 million people. This is a staggering growth which shows increased demand for mobile connectivity throughout the country with more and more people using the internet for their daily needs.

As per the statistics released, we have:

  1. Ufone which added around 1.47 million customers to its subscriber base in the last 4 months. Ufone 3G subscribers now stand at 8.1 million.
  2. Jazz added around 1.32 mobile internet users. Its total subscriber base now stands at a massive 20.5 million.
  3. Zong added 1.04 million mobile internet users and its total subscriber base now stands at 17.66 million.
  4. Telenor added the least number of mobile internet users at 93,528 whereas the total subscriber base now stands at 13.72 million.

Ufone has shown a staggering growth in the number of mobile internet users despite the fact that it doesn’t provide 4G service. According to PTA, people with basic education are opting for smartphones and mobile internet. Operators with maximum speeds and uninterrupted delivery are grabbing the maximum market share. This growth in users is largely influenced by pricing campaigns and the availability of the network throughout the country.

Which operator are you currently using for mobile internet?
