Pakistan Railways Issues New Train Schedule for Lahore and Faisalabad Routes

The Pakistan Railways has announced an updated train schedule for major routes departing from Lahore and Faisalabad to key destinations including Karachi, Quetta, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar, effective immediately. The revised timings aim to improve travel efficiency and streamline operations.

Pakistan Railways regularly adjusts its schedules to address operational challenges, track maintenance, and passenger demand. This latest update follows efforts to enhance punctuality and reduce delays on long-distance routes amid increased passenger traffic.

As per the new schedule:

• Karakoram Express will depart from Lahore at 3:00 PM for Karachi.
• Pak Business Express will now leave at 5:45 PM instead of 4:30 PM.
• Karachi Express is scheduled to depart at 6:00 PM.
• The Green Line Express, accommodating Shah Hussain Express passengers today, will leave for Karachi at 8:40 PM.
• Both Karakoram and Pakistan Express will travel via Sahiwal.

From Faisalabad, the Millat Express will depart at 2:00 PM, traveling to Karachi through Chak Jhumra, Sangla Hill, Lahore, and Sahiwal, while the Rehman Baba Express will also follow the same route.

On return trips, the Pakistan Express will travel from Karachi to Rawalpindi via Lahore, and Millat Express will return to Faisalabad through Lahore–Sahiwal–Sangla Hill–Chak Jhumra. The Rehman Baba Express (47 Up) will operate from Lahore to Peshawar via Sahiwal.

A Pakistan Railways spokesperson said,

“The updated schedule is part of our ongoing modernization plan to improve service quality, punctuality, and passenger comfort.”

Passengers are advised to verify train timings at their respective stations or through official Pakistan Railways channels, as minor timing adjustments may continue. The department is also working on outsourcing select train services and introducing digital booking systems to enhance operational efficiency.
