Pakistan Railways Upgrades 125-Up/126-Down Lasani Express
Pakistan Railways has taken a significant step to modernise passenger travel. On Friday, the department formally inaugurated the upgraded rake of the Lasani Express (125-Up/126-Down). This train operates on the busy Lahore–Narowal–Sialkot section.
Additional General Manager (Mechanical) Yousuf Khan inaugurated the refurbished train at the Lahore Railway Station. Furthermore, Chief Commercial Manager Tariq Sipra and other railway officials attended the ceremony.
The upgraded Lasani Express now features 10 fully overhauled coaches. Consequently, passengers can expect a much more comfortable journey. According to officials, the total travel time between Lahore and Sialkot will be approximately four hours and fifteen minutes.
During the event, AGM Yousuf Khan inspected the new rake personally. He issued strict instructions to staff regarding onboard facilities. Specifically, he emphasised maintaining high cleanliness standards and enhancing seating comfort for daily commuters.
This upgrade aligns with the broader vision of the federal government. Yousuf Khan stated that the improvements were executed under the specific directives of Federal Minister for Railways, Hanif Abbasi. The goal is to swiftly modernise the railway system to meet contemporary requirements.
Yousuf Khan highlighted that thousands of passengers travel between Lahore and Sialkot daily. Therefore, this upgrade directly benefits a large segment of the public. Moreover, he announced that Pakistan Railways plans to introduce similar modern rakes for other trains in the near future.
