Game District has officially crossed a massive threshold. The mobile gaming powerhouse recently announced it passed 2.2 billion downloads worldwide in 2025. Based in the MENAP region, the studio operates across Pakistan, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. Alongside the download record, they hit a peak of 22 million daily active users (DAU).
This growth is significant. The global mobile market is currently facing a plateau in downloads. Yet, Game District scaled significantly within a single calendar year. Consequently, they are one of the few publishers to achieve this level of expansion recently.
CEO & Co-Founder Mr Saad Hameed Khan leads the company. Based in the Lahore District of Punjab, Pakistan, Mr Hameed has architected a system that competes directly with Western giants.
According to Mr Hameed:
Global mobile game downloads have largely plateaued.
This milestone demonstrates that a MENAP-built publisher can compete globally with discipline and consistency.
Unlike many fast-scaling competitors, Game District remains largely bootstrapped. The company funded this expansion primarily through operating cash flows rather than external VC injection. This approach preserved their strategic control.
As a result, the financials are strong. In 2025, Game District saw a 55% year-over-year revenue increase. Total downloads also grew by 35%.
Mr Hameed attributes this success to an “execution-driven operating model”. The company utilises a high-frequency production engine backed by centralised data and user acquisition.
Sensor Tower data reveals that five specific titles drove approximately 40% of the company’s total daily active users. These flagship games include:
Furthermore, the studio is evolving. While hyper-casual games sparked their early success, Game District is shifting focus. They are now building hybrid casual and hybrid simulation formats.
This strategy is working. Initial launches in these new formats achieved a 16% Day-30 retention rate. This figure is almost double the category benchmarks.
Game District runs studios in Lahore, Istanbul, and Dubai, blending local creativity with centralised product management. Mr Hameed concluded:
Now we’re building durable products that mobile game players return to for years, while scaling sustainably from MENAP to the world.
