Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has signed an interline agreement with Afghanistan’s Kam Air to facilitate travel from Afghanistan to Middle Eastern destinations through Islamabad.
Under the agreement, passengers will be able to book their complete journey under a single reservation instead of purchasing separate tickets for different flight segments.
The first phase of the arrangement will connect Kabul with Dammam via Islamabad. Passengers traveling from Kabul will have their checked baggage transferred directly to their connecting PIA flight at Islamabad International Airport, eliminating the need to collect and recheck their luggage.
The agreement will also allow Afghan passengers traveling to Gulf destinations to remain in the airside transit area at Islamabad International Airport without going through immigration clearance in Pakistan.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the agreement establishes a streamlined transit route connecting Afghanistan with key Middle Eastern destinations through Islamabad.
The cooperation is expected to make onward travel more convenient for Afghan passengers while strengthening Islamabad’s role as a regional transit hub.
