The biggest game of 2025 is currently free to play. Electronic Arts officially kicked off the Battlefield 6 Season 1 trial yesterday, November 25. This limited-time event allows players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC to experience the best-selling first-person shooter of the year without spending a dime.
If you haven’t jumped into the action yet, now is the perfect time. The trial remains live until December 2 at 4:00 AM PT / 5:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time.
Accessing the trial is slightly different than usual. You cannot simply download a “Free Trial” version of the main game. Instead, you must download the free-to-play battle royale title, Battlefield RedSec.
Once you enter RedSec, you will find a dedicated menu for the Battlefield 6 trial. This temporary expansion bridges the two games. Furthermore, PlayStation users reportedly do not need a PlayStation Plus subscription to participate, as the trial runs through the free-to-play client.
EA has unlocked a generous portion of the multiplayer experience. The trial features three specific playlists designed for different playstyles:
Additionally, you can play on three specific maps:
You won’t waste your time grinding during this week. All progress, including Rank, weapon unlocks, and XP, carries over to the full game if you decide to buy it. Moreover, your existing progress from Battlefield RedSec syncs perfectly with the trial.
There are also free items up for grabs. If you log in before November 30, you will receive the Lethal Force Weapon Package. This grants you a skin for the M2010 ESR Sniper Rifle, usable in both Battlefield 6 and RedSec.
PlayStation Plus subscribers can also claim the Rogue Ops pack. This bundle includes 11 cosmetic items and is currently free (regularly $19.99).
Battlefield 6 released on October 10 and is currently outperforming its rival, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, in the US market. With the trial ending on December 2, don’t miss this chance to see why it holds the commercial crown of 2025.
