Poco’s upcoming X series phones are starting to take shape. After multiple certifications and a recent Geekbench appearance, new leaks now paint a near-complete picture of the Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max. The details suggest both devices aim squarely at the upper midrange, with big batteries and fast charging as headline features.
According to the leak, the Poco X8 Pro Max will run on the Dimensity 9500s chipset. It will pair the chip with LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, which signals strong performance and fast data speeds.
The display could be one of its biggest highlights. The phone is expected to feature a 6.83-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution. It may also reach up to 2,000 nits in high brightness mode and support 3,840Hz PWM dimming. In addition, Poco may include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, which usually offers faster and more accurate unlocking.
The Pro Max could also bring dual stereo speakers, NFC, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and an IR blaster. The device is tipped to carry up to an IP69K rating, which suggests strong protection against dust and water.
On the camera front, leaks point to a 50MP Light Hunter 600 main sensor. An 8MP ultrawide camera and a 20MP front camera may complete the setup. Meanwhile, the battery could be massive. The phone is said to pack an 8,500mAh unit with support for 100W wired fast charging.
The Poco X8 Pro, however, may target a slightly lower segment. It is tipped to use the Dimensity 8500 Ultra SoC. The phone could feature a 6.59-inch OLED display, but with the same 120Hz refresh rate, 1.5K resolution, 2,000 nits high brightness mode, and 3,840Hz PWM support as the Pro Max.
Battery capacity will likely be smaller here, though still impressive. The X8 Pro may include a 6,500mAh battery with 100W fast charging support.
Camera hardware could also differ. The Pro model is expected to carry a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary sensor. It may add an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 20MP selfie camera. Unlike the Pro Max, this version may use an optical in-display fingerprint scanner instead of an ultrasonic one.
Connectivity features will include NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 6, and an IR blaster. The phone is also tipped to offer an IP69K rating. Both models are likely to ship with Android 16-based HyperOS 3.
Taken together, the leaked specifications hint at familiar hardware. The Poco X8 Pro Max appears closely aligned with the Redmi Turbo 5 Max. Meanwhile, the X8 Pro could be a rebranded Turbo 5. If that proves true, Poco may rely on aggressive pricing to stand out.
