The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has announced that it will introduce mandatory biometric verification for candidates appearing in its written examinations, beginning with the upcoming Deputy Accountant recruitment test.
According to the commission, the biometric verification system will be implemented during the written examinations scheduled for July 25 and 26, 2026.
More than 60,000 candidates are expected to appear in the Deputy Accountant examination. All candidates will be required to complete biometric verification at their respective examination centers before being allowed to enter the examination hall.
PPSC Secretary Afzal Ahmed said the new system has been introduced to make the examination process more transparent, secure, and credible. He added that biometric verification will help eliminate impersonation and ensure that only genuine candidates are able to sit for the examinations.
The commission confirmed that the Deputy Accountant recruitment test will be the first written examination to use the new verification system.
PPSC also announced plans to gradually extend biometric verification to other large-scale written examinations involving more than 60,000 candidates, further strengthening the integrity and transparency of the recruitment process.
