The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has cancelled the authorization of South Air to operate commercial flights from private airfields, citing violations of aviation regulations that prohibit such operations without proper licensing.
The regulator issued a formal notice to South Air Chief Executive Officer Nishat Fatima, stating that flight operations could not continue at the Jozak Airfield in Tehlar and Sindak.
According to Civil Aviation Authority rules, commercial flights are not permitted to operate from private airfields under any circumstances.
The authority has also warned of strict action against South Air should further violations occur. Officials clarified that operators seeking to run commercial flights from private airfields must first obtain a charter license from the PCAA.
Following the notice, the PCAA formally withdrew the flight operation authorization previously granted to South Air for the Tehlar and Jozak airfields, effectively grounding the affected routes until the airline complies with regulatory requirements.
