ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has conducted Quality of Service (QoS) surveys for fixed-line broadband services in 36 major Pakistani cities, including Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
In order to guarantee that users receive high-quality internet services, these surveys were carried out in the first and second quarters of 2024 to evaluate the network performance of Broadband Service Providers (BSPs).
According to the survey, the majority of BSPs meet the requirements of critical key performance indicators, such as Jitter, Network Availability, and Network Latency.
An important key performance indicator (KPI) that affects service quality and user experience during peak traffic hours is bandwidth utilization, although many BSPs were discovered to be underperforming in this area. The PTA has ordered these service providers to fix the problems and boost their quality of service.
By conducting these polls, the PTA hopes to improve the quality of fixed-line broadband and guarantee that internet users across the country have a better experience.
