The Directorate General of Customs Valuation Karachi has officially released the new Valuation Ruling. Significantly, while iPhone and Samsung users saw great reductions, the Google Pixel lineup has arguably received the most shocking price cuts of all. In the past, niche devices like the Pixel were often assessed arbitrarily, leading to high PTA taxes. However, under the new regime, Customs has fixed the values for imported used Pixels at incredibly aggressive rates. As a result, even the latest Pixel 9 series devices are now falling into budget tax brackets.
Below is the complete breakdown of the new official customs values and the exact taxes you can expect to pay.
The “Impossible” Deals
The new valuation list contains numbers that almost seem like typos, but they are real.
- Pixel 9 Pro ($195): This is the biggest anomaly in the entire list. Since the customs value is fixed at just $195, the Pixel 9 Pro barely scrapes into the $100-$200 slab. Therefore, you will pay only around Rs. 13,000 in tax for Google’s latest flagship.
- Pixel 8a ($98): Valued at just under $100, this phone lands in the Entry Slab ($30-$100). Consequently, the tax is a mere Rs. 4,500 (approx).
- Pixel 6a ($28): This device is valued at $28. Because it is under the $30 limit, it falls into the Minimum Slab, attracting a negligible tax of roughly Rs. 1,500.
Flagship Performance, In-Budget PTA Tax
Furthermore, the high-end “Pro” models from previous years are now cheaper to register than most mid-range phones.
- Pixel 9 Pro XL ($260): Even the largest, most expensive Pixel is valued at $260. Thus, it avoids the high flagship tax and stays in the Mid Slab, costing just ~Rs. 31,640 to register.
- Pixel 7 Pro & 8 Pro: Both of these former flagships are valued well under $200. As a result, they both incur the standard Low Slab tax of ~Rs. 13,000.

- These taxes apply to Passport registration. CNIC taxes may be slightly higher due to Withholding Tax.
- Estimated Taxes are calculated based on the current exchange rate (1 USD = 279.5 PKR) and active PTA Tax Slabs.
- All of these prices are rough estimates. Actual PTA taxes may vary slightly at the time of registration due to daily fluctuations in the dollar rate, banking processing fees, or the discretion of the Customs Officer assessing the device.
- These values apply specifically to used devices imported into Pakistan.
Ideally, Pixel fans should rush to register their Pixel 9 Pro and 8a models immediately, as these valuations represent historically low PTA tax rates for such premium hardware.
