The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued an important advisory urging telecom users to ensure their CNICs are valid and up-to-date to avoid disruption in mobile services.
According to PTA, SIMs registered against expired, cancelled CNICs or deceased individuals may be blocked as part of ongoing efforts to maintain a secure telecom environment.
The authority has advised users to take the following steps:
- Renew expired CNICs immediately
- Resolve any CNIC-related issues with NADRA
- Ensure SIMs are not registered under the CNIC of a deceased person
Officials emphasized that these measures are aimed at ensuring uninterrupted connectivity while strengthening security and compliance across Pakistan’s telecom sector.
PTA stated that the initiative reflects its continued commitment to protect consumer interests and promote a safe, reliable digital ecosystem nationwide.
