Punjab education boards have announced the registration schedule for the 9th‑grade annual examinations 2027, directing institutions to complete student registrations within specified deadlines.
The official notification confirmed June 8 as the final date for regular students enrolled in educational institutions to complete their registration without additional charges.
Students missing the initial deadline may register until June 23 by paying a late fee of 600 rupees per student, according to board officials.
Registered students will be eligible to appear in the 9th‑grade annual examinations 2027 and subsequently the 10th‑grade annual examinations scheduled for 2028.
Educational institutions have been instructed to ensure timely completion of registrations, preventing any student from being excluded from participation in the scheduled examinations.
Earlier this week, Punjab education boards increased examination attempts for failed students from four to six, allowing candidates to retake exams within four years under revised policy.
The new rules apply to matriculation, intermediate, O Level, and A Level examinations, covering all academic groups under the jurisdiction of Punjab educational boards.
Students failing examinations may now attempt papers six times within four years, replacing the previous limit of four attempts under earlier regulations.
Officials confirmed the policy will be implemented beginning with annual examinations 2024, applying uniformly across all boards operating within Punjab province.
Candidates availing additional attempts must appear under the current syllabus, regardless of when they initially attempted examinations before failing subjects, ensuring consistency in academic standards.
The policy also applies to candidates who pass examinations but later choose to appear for additional subjects, requiring adherence to the same updated rules.
