The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has decided to compile a comprehensive database of suspicious foreign universities and countries that enroll Pakistani students without properly verifying their academic credentials.
FIA Immigration will identify the countries and institutions involved in the practice as part of an ongoing investigation into fraudulent student enrollments. Officials said many of these universities admit students without conducting a thorough review of their qualifications, leaving them vulnerable to exploitation.
According to the FIA, protecting students and their families from fraud, forgery, and deception remains its top priority. The agency is preparing a list of universities that lack legal recognition and are not properly accredited to enroll students.
Once compiled, the data will be forwarded to the Ministry of Interior, which will issue formal communications to the concerned countries and universities. The FIA also plans to seek action against universities that admit students who do not meet the required academic standards.
In addition, the agency will move to arrest individuals involved in deceiving students with promises of admission to fake or unrecognized universities, as part of a broader crackdown on educational fraud targeting Pakistani students seeking to study abroad.
