The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen has approved new rules for students who miss one or more papers during examinations under the marks improvement policy.
Under the revised policy, students who remain absent from a subject in Part-I, Part-II, or composite examinations will have their previous marks transferred to the absent paper when the result is compiled. This will allow boards to use the student’s earlier performance instead of leaving the subject unaccounted for.
The new policy also applies to candidates who are absent from a marks improvement examination. In such cases, the board will declare the candidate’s result as “Marks Improved.”
According to board officials, the changes are aimed at facilitating students and making the process for marks improvement examinations simpler and clearer.
