The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) suspended operations at an unregistered carbonated drinks plant in Rawat Industrial Estate on June 16 following multiple severe food safety violations.
Inspectors discovered unapproved products stored on the premises alongside carbonated energy drinks that closely resembled alternative established commercial brands currently available throughout the local marketplace.
The official regulatory team noted severe unhygienic conditions including stagnant water pools, accumulated junk materials, poor raw ingredient handling, and packaging material placed directly on floors.
Furthermore, the private facility operated without any integrated pest management system while utilizing artificial sweeteners in its carbonated beverages that were not declared on product labels.
Food safety officials collected specific samples of lychee and apple carbonated flavored drinks from the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry location for comprehensive laboratory testing.
Prior inspection records indicate that regulators previously marked this specific production unit as temporarily closed and completely non-operational during an official visit on December 8 2025.
The regulatory authority stated that manufacturing and commercial sales will remain fully suspended until the facility complies completely with established provincial food safety standards and laws.
