Punjab Government, in collaboration with Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Planning and Development Department, has introduced “Smart Monitoring Development Projects” software to help departments develop budgets and introduce e-governance.
The government of Punjab has taken this initiative in order to modernize the annual development and budget preparation program of Financial Year 2017-18. With the help of the Smart Monitoring Development Projects software, all the provincial departments will be able to send their development plans to the Punjab’s Planning and Development Department online for the approval.
The whole budget preparation program will be automated through this software. All the activities related to various projects under different departments would be reviewed online. This will be an opportunity for every department to get a representation in the upcoming budget of FY 2017-18.
The focal persons from all the relevant departments will be trained to use the software.
The Planning and Development Department, Government of Punjab, is the principal planning organization at the provincial level which coordinates and monitors development programs and activities of various departments of the provincial government.
PITB is committed to effectively and efficiently providing IT services and infrastructure to the government and local and international businesses. PITB works on various projects’ automation such as e-stamping, e-tickets, digital systems in police stations, e-challan, smart monitoring, and other citizens’ facilitation projects and services.
