The Government of Punjab and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) have opened company registrations for the Chief Minister IT Internship Program (CMITIP), aimed at providing young people with practical industry experience and preparing them for careers in the IT sector.
The program, launched under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, will offer 30,000 internship opportunities to young people across the province.
Under the initiative, IT companies, business process outsourcing (BPO) firms, internet service providers (ISPs), telecom companies, and IT departments of banks can register as partner companies.
Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 50,000, while participating companies will receive Rs. 12,500 per intern per month as financial support from the government.
Registered companies will have access to pre-screened young talent and will be able to select interns according to their organizational requirements. The interns will gain hands-on experience with modern technologies, industry-standard tools, and professional workplace environments.
The program is designed to bridge the gap between academic education and industry requirements by providing young graduates and professionals with practical exposure to the IT sector.
To participate in the program, companies must be registered with the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) or the relevant regulatory authority. They must also have an operational office in Punjab and provide adequate infrastructure and a suitable working environment for interns.
PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf said the initiative would strengthen industry links with young talent, expand practical training opportunities, and contribute to developing a skilled workforce for Punjab’s growing IT sector.
Companies interested in joining the program can register online through the official CMITIP registration portal. Further information is available through the program’s helpline and official email address.
The initiative is expected to create thousands of paid internship opportunities while helping participating companies access trained and pre-screened young talent.
