The Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), together with Mohseni Trading Stores, has issued an urgent removal for several popular beauty products after tests found high levels of mercury, a toxic metal that can seriously harm health. Consumers are being urged to stop using these products immediately and return them to stores.

The ministry emphasized that public safety is its top priority and is continuing strict checks on cosmetics sold in the market. Mercury, even in small amounts over time, can damage the nervous system, kidneys, and skin, making early action essential.
High levels of mercury in cosmetics are extremely dangerous for the skin and overall health. On the skin, it can cause irritation, redness, rashes, discoloration, peeling, and acne issues, while prolonged exposure allows mercury to enter the bloodstream, potentially damaging organs, over time, making them a serious health risk.
Authorities have also reminded consumers to report any suspicious products or unsafe cosmetics through the Consumer Protection and Anti-Commercial Fraud Department.
