Capcom has seemingly confirmed the return of Leon S. Kennedy in “Resident Evil: Requiem” after accidentally revealing his outfit in a newly released Deluxe Edition announcement. The leak confirms what fans have speculated for months. The iconic agent is officially part of the upcoming title.
The slip occurred in an official promotional announcement showcasing the Digital Deluxe Edition of Resident Evil: Requiem. The text included “Leon’s Outfit: DSO Special Agent”, which was not mentioned in any previous announcements. The reveal effectively confirms Leon’s appearance in the game, marking his return to the franchise after years of fan theories.
Capcom has yet to comment on the mistake, but the screenshots of this blunder have already circulated widely on social media, with fans celebrating the unintentional confirmation.
Capcom officially announced Resident Evil: Requiem earlier this week, confirming its release for February 27, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2.
Pre-orders are now live, and players can choose between the Digital Deluxe Edition and the Steelbook Deluxe Edition.
Pre-order bonus:
Digital Deluxe Edition includes:
Steelbook Deluxe Edition adds a premium steelbook case and a lenticular card to the list.
Resident Evil: Requiem follows Grace Ashcroft, an FBI agent investigating her mother Alyssa’s murder. The game brings back classic survival horror gameplay with combat, puzzles, and resource management. Players can freely switch between first-person and third-person perspectives.
On PlayStation 5, the game will also make use of DualSense haptics and adaptive triggers, offering a more immersive horror experience.
Capcom’s “Road to Requiem” video and PlayStation’s recap post highlight the franchise’s deep roots, from its 1996 origins to “Resident Evil: Village”. The addition of Leon Kennedy, one of the series’ most beloved characters, ensures Requiem will bridge the old and new eras of Resident Evil storytelling.
