Ripple Partners With Unicambio To Expand Global Crypto Payments Between Portugal And Brazil

Ripple has reached a significant milestone in its global expansion by partnering with Unicâmbio, Portugal’s leading currency exchange provider, to enhance cross-border payments between Portugal and Brazil. This partnership marks a strategic move for Ripple as it strengthens financial ties between the two countries while advancing blockchain-enabled payments in Europe and Latin America.

Ripple’s collaboration with Unicâmbio aims to enable near-instant, cost-effective cross-border transactions using blockchain technology. The collaboration enables Unicâmbio to provide its corporate clients instantaneous and exceptionally inexpensive Portuguese-Brazilian transaction settlement services.

Cassie Craddock, Ripple’s Managing Director for the UK and Europe, highlighted the importance of this development, stating, “Portugal has developed a thriving crypto ecosystem, so we are delighted to open up our payment solution to partners there. By connecting our payment networks in Portugal and Brazil, we are facilitating faster, more cost-effective cross-border payments while strengthening the economic bridge between these two major markets. Ripple has over a decade of experience in tokenizing real-world assets, starting with bringing fiat currencies onchain to seamlessly send money across borders.”

This partnership establishes a new payment path between Portugal and Brazil where the countries have close economic integration.

Adriana Jerónimo, an executive at Unicâmbio, emphasized the transformative potential of blockchain technology for financial transactions between Portugal and Brazil. She said, “By leveraging blockchain technology we’re transforming money movement between the two nations. Ripple’s crypto-enabled payments solution enables near-instant settlement and drastically reduces costs compared to traditional payment channels, delivering real value to our customers.”

The newly formed partnership enhances Ripple’s position in Latin America by leveraging its existing collaborations with important Brazilian companies that encompass Travelex Bank and Mercado Bitcoin which holds the position as the largest crypto exchange in the region.

Ripple’s Growing Influence in Cross-Border Payments

The market leader Ripple maintains global influence through its digital asset infrastructure that has received more than 90 regulatory licenses worldwide.

The pro-crypto regulatory environment created by Donald Trump’s election win triggers investor interest in Ripple as the company continues advancing its technology. Ripple executive Brad Garlinghouse expressed his support for recent U.S. crypto market reforms by describing them as crucial developments for the industry.

The Unicâmbio collaboration indicates that Ripple plans to advance its worldwide market reach. The outcome of Ripple’s ongoing litigation with the SEC will strengthen the company’s market position once it reaches resolution. The coin’s long-term trajectory receives optimistic predictions from experts as an XRP ETF launch in the United States continues to prove exciting.
