Samsung announces new water-resistant Galaxy A series phones
Samsung has refreshed its A-series lineup for the year 2017. The biggest change from last year’s models is IP68 water and dust resistance certification for both A3 2017 and A5 2017.

Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 will have following specifications:

2 GB RAM with 8 or 16 GB of internal storage
Octa-core 1.6 GHz Cortex A-53 chipset with Mali-T830MP2
12 MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30 frames per second
8 MP secondary front camera with f/1.8 aperture
2,350mAh battery
Single SIM (Nano-SIM) and Dual SIM (dual standby) variants
A3’s older sibling, Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 will offer these specifications:
5.2 inch FHD (1080 x 1920p) Screen
3 GB RAM with 32 GB of internal storage
Octa-core 1.9 GHz Cortex A-53 Exynos 7880 chipset
16 MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, Optical Image Stabilization, capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30 frames per second
12 MP secondary front camera with f/1.8 aperture, capable of shooting 1080p videos
3,000mAh battery
Single SIM (Nano-SIM) and Dual SIM (dual standby) variants
Both devices are IP68 water and dust resistance certified.
Availability and Price
Samsung has not announced any price for both devices yet but 2016 models of A3 and A5 were priced around 30,000 and 40,000 Pakistani Rupees respectively at launch. These devices are also expected to be in the same price bracket. The devices will go on sale at the end of January or the start of February 2017.
