Samsung is adding a new privacy feature to the Galaxy S26 Ultra, and it wants people to notice. Last month, the company hinted at what it called a new layer of privacy. Now it has shared a short video that shows exactly how the feature works.
The idea is simple but smart. When someone looks at your phone from the side, the screen appears black. However, you can still see everything clearly from the front. This happens when the zero-peeking privacy toggle is turned on. In the demo video, the entire display turns dark for unwanted viewers.
What makes this feature different is its precision. The phone uses per-pixel control to manage the effect. That means it can block only certain parts of the screen. For example, it can hide notifications that contain sensitive information. The rest of the display stays visible to you.

Users will also get control over how it works. You can switch the feature on or off manually. Alternatively, the phone can activate it automatically. For instance, it may turn on when you step outside.
The feature has already drawn attention beyond Samsung’s ecosystem. According to the reports, Apple is planning something similar. He claims it could arrive on MacBooks in 2029.
Some laptop makers already offer basic privacy screens. HP markets its version as Sure View. Lenovo calls its solution PrivacyGuard. However, these systems apply the effect to the entire screen. They cannot hide only selected areas, as Samsung’s implementation can.
Samsung will officially unveil the Galaxy S26 series on February 25. That date falls on Wednesday next week. Customers can already reserve a unit and receive a $30 or €30 discount. The company is also expected to introduce several other upgrades for the S26 Ultra at the event.
