Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z TriFold, marking a historic milestone as its first tri-fold smartphone. While the device showcases the epitome of Samsung’s engineering, new reports confirm that getting your hands on one might be difficult. The tech giant is adopting a strictly limited sales strategy for this debut.
Unlike typical flagship rollouts, Samsung will not display the Galaxy Z TriFold in standard retail stores. You won’t be able to handle a demo unit at your local shop. Instead, the company will sell the device exclusively through its own official channels.
Industry sources indicate a price tag of approximately 3.6 million won (~$2,450). This is pleasantly surprising, as it sits below earlier rumours that predicted a cost upwards of $2,750. To reinforce this limited-release strategy, Samsung plans to offer the device in a single colour, Crafted Black, and a single storage configuration for this initial run.
The Z TriFold justifies its exclusivity with a massive 10-inch main screen. It boasts a sharp 2,160 x 1,584px resolution and a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Dual titanium hinges allow the two sides to fold into the centre, fully protecting the main panel.
When folded, you can use the 6.5-inch cover screen on the back. It features a brilliant 2,600 nits peak brightness and tough Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protection.
Despite the limited run, the specs remain top-tier.
The device doesn’t skimp on photography or endurance. It carries over the powerful triple-camera system from the Z Fold7, featuring a massive 200MP main sensor. To keep the lights on, a 5,600 mAh battery is split across the three back panels, supporting 45W wired and 15W wireless charging.
South Korean buyers will get first access starting Friday, December 12. While this initial batch is exclusive and limited, Samsung has confirmed plans to eventually expand to the U.S., UAE, China, Taiwan, and Singapore.
