Samsung One UI 7.0 Set to Launch in April; Is Your Galaxy Device Eligible?

Samsung has officially announced that One UI 7.0, based on Android 15, will begin rolling out in early April 2025. The Galaxy S24 series will be the first to receive the stable update, followed by other flagship and mid-range models, including the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy A55.

Samsung commenced One UI 7.0 beta testing for the Galaxy S24 series in December 2024. The extended wait for the stable version release is due to the comprehensive system update and AI-powered functionality that operates through cloud processing.

The beta version of the devices will be available in India, Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States starting on March 6, 2025. The stable update will be available to a wider range of devices, including the Galaxy S23 series, Tab S10 series, and A55, starting in March 2025. The stable update is expected to be delivered in April.

Samsung One UI 7.0 Features

Samsung describes One UI 7.0 as its largest custom skin update which introduces improved visual appearance together with enhanced animations coupled with increased AI capabilities. Key highlights include:

• Redesigned Quick Panel & Notifications: In One UI 7.0, the Quick Panel contain enhanced toggles and a new volume control bar are now present on distinct screens. Notifications are pill-shaped to enhance readability.
• The ‘Now Bar’ Feature: The current activities are displayed in the new ‘Now Bar’ user interface element, which includes music playback, phone controls, and exercise monitoring. This section will expand from its current position at the bottom of the screen when it is touched.
• AI-Powered Enhancements: The Galaxy is equipped with AI-powered features that allow Writing Assist Tools to verify grammar and formatting in real-time. Call Transcripts offer enhanced note summarization and supporting up to 20 languages.
• Improved Camera Experience: The camera application  offers a single-handed operation experience, facilitated by advanced image processing capabilities and user-friendly controls.
• Enhanced Security Measures: The Knox Matrix Dashboard functions as the primary control centre, providing users with a comprehensive understanding of the protection of their cryptographic devices. Samsung implements two security protocols: biometric authentication and USB restriction.

It is anticipated that the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5 smartphones will receive the stable One UI 7.0 update without the need for redirection.
