Samsung Rumored to Push One UI 8.5 Beta Program to Next Year
Samsung’s next major software update, One UI 8.5, may not arrive as early as expected. According to new reports, the company has delayed the beta rollout, which was initially set to begin in November. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 series is expected to debut with this version of One UI, but it now appears that users will have to wait longer.
A tipster on X claims that Samsung’s plans changed due to development issues surrounding the Galaxy S26+. The device was reportedly canceled earlier in favor of the Galaxy S26 Edge. However, disappointing sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge forced Samsung to bring the S26+ back into production, while the S26 Edge was dropped.
This shift has allegedly caused a ripple effect across Samsung’s release schedule. The entire Galaxy S26 lineup, which was expected to launch early next year, may now be postponed until March. Because One UI 8.5 is tied to the S26 launch, Samsung sees little reason to release a beta for current S25 models months ahead of the final rollout.
As of now, Samsung has not confirmed these claims, and the information remains unofficial. Still, considering Samsung’s recent track record of aligning software and hardware launches, the reported delay seems plausible. For now, Galaxy fans will have to wait for more clarity from the company in the coming weeks.
