Samsung Set to Launch Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 in Early July

Samsung is preparing to launch its highly anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 foldable smartphones in early July 2025. The company is set to host its next Galaxy Unpacked event in New York City, marking its return to the U.S. for the first time in two years. This event will showcase the next generation of Samsung’s foldable technology and is expected to bring significant updates to both devices.
According to a report from The JoongAng, Samsung is planning to hold the Galaxy Unpacked event in early July, potentially around July 1st or 2nd, just ahead of the U.S. Independence Day.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 launch events in Seoul, South Korea, and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 launch in Paris, France, were previously organised by the company last year. Samsung’s dedication to the U.S. market is underscored by its return to its New York launch event, where it also observes the increasing demand for foldable devices.
What’s New with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7?
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is slated to arrive with advanced features that consist of a compact structure resulting in the smallest mobile device among Samsung’s folding range with less than 10mm profile during the folded state. According to some rumours, this smartphone will include an 8-inch folding screen to improve user visibility.
The future camera system should be a standout feature because it may incorporate the 200MP camera technology from the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The adoption of an under-display camera will see developments that boost picture quality and system performance.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will better the previous model’s reception with improved manufacturing design and system features. These forthcoming devices will become more enticing in the premium market since they will have increased processing capabilities, a longer battery life, and improved durability.
Samsung’s next launches will include a new Galaxy Watch model as well as its flagship Android XR headset, which was created in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm. This upcoming headset type marks Samsung’s first foray into augmented and virtual reality.
According to rumours, Samsung will debut a trifold smartphone, though the quantity would be limited during the initial phase.
Production Timeline and Release Schedule
As per the report, Samsung Display has already begun producing panels for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, with mass production expected to ramp up in May 2025. This aligns with the company’s goal of releasing the new foldables in the second half of the year, ahead of the early July launch.
Before the foldables take center stage, Samsung will first focus on the Galaxy S25 series, which is set for launch on May 13, 2025. Following this, Samsung will shift its attention to its Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 lineup, which are expected to be some of the most innovative foldable devices the company has released to date.
