Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra Gets a Privacy-Focused Display Feature in One UI 8.5

Samsung is expected to introduce the Galaxy S26 Ultra with only minor upgrades, yet one software addition draws attention. A new display privacy feature focuses on keeping on-screen content hidden in public spaces. This capability has now been confirmed through One UI 8.5, the version set to run on the device at launch.

The feature is called Privacy Display. When turned on, it prevents nearby people from seeing what appears on your screen. This makes everyday use safer in crowded environments, such as buses, trains, and cafés.

One UI 8.5 screenshots reveal two privacy intensity levels. The standard mode offers basic protection. A second option, labeled “maximum privacy protection,” further reduces viewing angles. As a result, the display remains visible only from a direct position.

Privacy Display can also activate automatically based on user-defined conditions. These triggers will likely be controlled through Samsung’s Modes and Routines app. For instance, the feature could switch on whenever you leave home or arrive at work.

Samsung is also adding a Quick Settings toggle for quicker access. This allows users to enable the feature instantly when needed. While the Galaxy S26 Ultra may not bring major changes, this privacy-focused addition delivers practical value.
