Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7: A New Era or Just Hype?

Samsung is anticipated to unveil its next-generation foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, in early July 2025. According to recent reports , the upcoming devices may feature significant design improvements and hardware enhancements, marking a major leap forward in the foldable category.

Galaxy Z Fold7 Update

Most notable, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is rumoured to be exceptionally thin, measuring just 8.2 mm when folded. If accurate, this would represent a substantial reduction from its predecessor and position it ahead of competitors such as the Oppo Find N5, which measures 8.9 mm folded. This would also make it thinner than Samsung’s own Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which is currently 10.6 mm thick.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 retains the special edition version’s 200-megapixel main camera, as well as its 10 MP 3x telephoto lens and 12 MP ultra-wide camera, and features upgraded displays, including an 8.0-inch inner screen and a 6.5-inch cover display.

According to mobile experts, the Galaxy Z Fold7 will have larger display dimensions, moving from a 7.6-inch inner screen to a new 8.0-inch screen and a cover display that will be 6.3 to 6.5 inches.

Galaxy Z Flip7 Update

The Galaxy Z Flip7, along with its clamshell shape, is set to receive significant hardware advancements.  The Galaxy Z Flip7 display will be about twice the size of the previous version’s 3.4-inch cover, measuring approximately 4.0 inches.

The device’s battery upgrade will increase capacity from 4,000 mAh to 4,300 mAh.  The Galaxy Z Flip7’s camera components will be identical to those of the Galaxy Z Flip6, with a 50 MP primary sensor and a 12 MP ultra-wide lens.

The future smartphones will most likely be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, but the rumoured Fan Edition of the Flip7 could use Samsung’s Exynos 2400e engine.

According to sources, the Galaxy Z Fold7 will cost €2,100 when it is released, which is €100 more than the €2,000 launch price of the Z Fold 6.  There have been no pricing updates for the Galaxy Z Flip7.
