Sindh Govt Confirms No Reduction in Karachi E-Challan Fines

The Sindh government has clarified that e-challan fines in Karachi will remain unchanged despite public calls for reductions. Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah emphasized that the penalties apply specifically to Karachi residents and will continue as planned, reinforcing the city’s commitment to efficient traffic management and urban governance.

The e-challan system, introduced to curb traffic violations, has faced criticism over high fines, prompting political debate. Minister Shah highlighted that improving city services, including garbage collection and strengthening divisional boards, remains a top priority. He urged cooperation among all stakeholders to ensure Karachi’s development and effective enforcement of regulations.

Shah stated, “Reducing fines will not happen. Our focus is on empowering local bodies and ensuring residents follow rules for a safer, better-managed city.”

The government continues to monitor the e-challan system while maintaining its strict enforcement policy to improve traffic discipline and urban services.
