Sindh Launches Its First Ever Government Job Portal Online

Sindh has made history by launching the Sindh Job Portal (SJP), the province’s first-ever digital platform for applying to government jobs. Inaugurated by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, the initiative aims to enhance transparency, accessibility, and efficiency in Sindh’s public-sector recruitment process. While Pakistan already operates a National Job Portal under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications, the SJP marks Sindh’s independent step toward digital governance and localized hiring reform.

The SJP was developed through a collaboration between the Sindh Information Technology Department and Sukkur IBA University. This project aligns with Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s vision of creating employment opportunities for all, reflected in her slogan “Benazir Aaie Hae Rozgar Laie Hae.”

Key Features & Operation

The Sindh Job Portal allows candidates to upload documents, CNICs, and domiciles to build a verified database of applicants. After passing the Sukkur IBA Screening Test, candidates can directly apply for open government positions.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah emphasized:

“This portal bridges the Sindh government and the youth seeking jobs  linking opportunity with talent in a transparent way.”

The system ensures that each department uploads vacancies in real-time. For instance, if the Education Department posts 100 vacancies, the Finance Department can instantly verify funding before the posts go live eliminating delays caused by manual approval.

Technological Advancements

The platform is equipped with AI-based job matching, voice-enabled job searches in Urdu and English, and multilingual support (Sindhi, Urdu, English). It also integrates with the Health Department and Sindh Police Special Branch for real-time verification of medical and character records.

Applicants will receive updates through SMS, email, and portal notifications, while the first test attempt is free for all candidates. Over 326,000 individuals have already passed the recruitment exams, and new tests will be conducted every month with instant result availability.

Initially created for BPS-5 to BPS-15 positions, the Sindh Job Portal now supports all grades, marking a significant step toward digital governance and fair recruitment in Pakistan.
