The Sindh Police has officially announced the relaunch date for Karachi’s e-challan system. The digital traffic ticketing system will become fully operational from October 27, 2025, under the city’s Safe City Project.
The system had been temporarily suspended after a 10-year contract with the private company managing challan machines and fine collection expired on September 30. Since then, authorities have been issuing dummy e-challans to test the new setup. These tickets are not being sent to citizens.
No new agreement has been signed yet because the system is shifting to the Safe City framework. However, officials have confirmed that full operations will resume across the entire city later this month.
Inspector General of Police Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon made the announcement. He confirmed that the Traffic Police Department and the Safe City Program are working closely to ensure a smooth relaunch.
The Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah will officially inaugurate the system. The new setup aims to bring city-wide coverage with no exceptions. Authorities expect this will significantly reduce traffic violations and improve road safety.
