What if your late-night Netflix scrolls didn’t end with another show; but with your favorite podcast? That’s exactly what’s about to happen. Spotify has officially teamed up with Netflix to bring video podcasts to the streaming platform starting in early 2026. The rollout will begin in the U.S., with global expansion planned shortly after.
At launch, Netflix users will get a handpicked mix of sports, culture, lifestyle, and true crime video podcasts, pulled straight from Spotify Studios and The Ringer. Over time, more genres and creators will join the lineup.
Spotify isn’t playing around. After years of heavy podcast investment, the company is now doubling down on video to go head-to-head with YouTube. And the numbers prove why.
As of Q2 2025, Spotify hosts over 430,000 video podcasts, with video consumption growing 20× faster than audio. More than 350 million users have streamed video content; that’s a 65% year-over-year jump.
Roman Wasenmüller, Spotify’s VP & Head of Podcasts, called the move a “new chapter for podcasting,” adding:
“We’re expanding discovery, helping creators reach new audiences, and giving fans around the world more choice and access to the stories they love.”
Spotify is bringing some of its biggest shows to Netflix right away. Expect hits like The Bill Simmons Podcast, The Rewatchables, The Ringer NBA Show, The Mismatch, Dissect, Conspiracy Theories, and Serial Killers to land on your Netflix homepage first.
While Spotify hasn’t shared revenue details, this deal clearly aims to boost its ad business and help Netflix offer more diverse content. It’s a bold, strategic move that could completely change how we experience podcasts, not just in our ears, but on our screens.
