Spotify’s Next Price Jump Will Hit US Users in Early 2026

Spotify is preparing to raise subscription prices in the United States, marking what could be its most significant domestic adjustment since mid-2024. The company has already increased rates across major regions, including South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific, and industry reports indicate the US will soon follow.

The Financial Times, citing three people with knowledge of the discussions, reports that Spotify plans to introduce the new US pricing in the first quarter of 2026. The move comes as the company works to show steady profitability while responding to rising pressure from major record labels that want streaming prices to keep pace with inflation.

Spotify last raised prices in the US in June 2024, pushing its individual Premium plan to $11.99 per month. The service also offers three other tiers in the country. Students pay $5.99 per month, Duo subscribers are billed $16.99 per month, and the Family plan costs $19.99 per month.

Although Spotify has not publicly confirmed the upcoming increase, the combination of industry pressure and the company’s profitability goals suggests that another US price revision is becoming increasingly likely.
