Spotify is giving listeners a closer look at the music they love with a new feature called SongDNA. Now appearing in the Now Playing view, SongDNA adds an interactive layer to supported tracks. When tapped, it reveals the writers, producers, and collaborators behind a song, alongside the samples and interpolations that shaped its sound. Fans can even explore covers inspired by the track, giving them a fuller picture of its influence.
The feature doesn’t stop there. Users can dive into any creator’s profile, discover other artists they have worked with, and follow their collaborators further. Spotify describes this as a way to “see how artists, eras, and genres intersect,” letting listeners trace the connections that brought a song to life.
SongDNA relies on a mix of data sourced from artists, their teams, and the Spotify community. It is designed to complement existing tools like About this Song, providing a deeper understanding of how tracks come together.
The rollout will continue through the end of April, arriving globally on iOS and Android for Spotify Premium subscribers.
