Steam Adds 7 New Free Games & Epic Store Updates for February 2026

Free is free. That is the best philosophy for gaming. Everyone hates buying a full-priced game only to face disappointment. Fortunately, Steam has embraced the “free” model recently. While the Epic Games Store reliably drops free titles every Thursday, Steam is now increasing its own offerings.

Right now, you can claim seven new games on Steam completely free of charge. Once claimed, you keep them forever.

Epic Games Store: Last Chance for Current Freebies

While Steam offers new titles, do not ignore the Epic Games Store. You have until February 19 at 10:00 AM CT / 9:00 PM PKT to claim two specific games.

First, Nobody Wants to Die is a noir adventure set in a dystopian New York. You play as Detective James Kara, investigating a serial killer while exploring themes of immortality.

Second, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark offers pixel-art mystery. You join Detective McQueen to investigate the cursed town of Twin Lakes.

Coming Soon to Epic

On February 19, the current Epic offers will rotate out. They will be replaced by Return to Ash and a starter edition for STALCRAFT: X.

Return to Ash is a visual novel about choices and their impact on the afterlife. Meanwhile, the STALCRAFT: X starter pack includes weapons and gear for the open-world MMOFPS. This post-apocalyptic game features a S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-inspired atmosphere and faction warfare.
