The Supreme Court of Pakistan has approved a 100 percent increase in utility allowances for all its employees, effective from 1 July 2026, following formal approval by the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
Under the revised structure, employees in grades 1 to 6 will receive a monthly utility allowance of Rs12,000, doubled from the previous amount of Rs6,000 allocated to that pay bracket.
Employees in grades 7 to 10 will see their allowance rise from Rs8,000 to Rs16,000 per month, while those in grades 11 to 15 will receive Rs20,000, up from Rs10,000 previously.
Officers in grade 16 will receive Rs24,000, increased from Rs12,000, while grade 17 officers will receive Rs30,000 per month, up from the earlier monthly figure of Rs15,000.
The allowance for grade 18 officers has been set at Rs36,000, raised from Rs18,000, while grade 19 officers will now receive Rs42,000, compared to the previous monthly entitlement of Rs21,000.
Grade 20 officers will receive Rs48,000 per month, doubled from Rs24,000, while officers in grade 21 and above will receive Rs60,000, increased from the previous monthly amount of Rs30,000.
The utility allowance covers expenses related to gas and electricity consumption, providing financial relief to Supreme Court employees across all pay grades and categories.
The additional expenditure arising from this increase will be met from the already approved budget for the financial year 2026-27, according to the official notification issued by the court.
