Tekken 8’s Greatest Grand Finals of 2025: Pakistan’s The Jon Wins
The Tekken World Tour 2025 Paradise Game Battle, held in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire (Oct 18–19), gave fans one of the most iconic Grand Finals in Tekken’s history. Out of 114 competitors, it came down to Adeel “THE JON” Sheikh (King) from Pakistan versus “Gosain” (Law) from the United Kingdom.
What followed was a masterclass in adaptation, resilience, and heart that had both fans and commentators losing their minds.
The Pre-Reset Chaos
The Jon started in the winner’s bracket, while Gosain clawed his way up from the loser’s side. The first few games were tight, but Game 3 brought a moment no Tekken fan will ever forget.
In 3rd round of Game 3, King’s Down-Forward (Neutral) 2 somehow crushed through Law’s down jab, leaving both the players and the audience stunned. The move visually phased through Law’s attack, defying known mechanics.

The Jon went up 2-1 in the set with this crazy exchange. Despite the shock, Gosain composed himself and responded like a true veteran. The fourth game went down to the final-final round, The Jon nearly closed it out with a Giant Swing, but Gosain teched it and survived with a pixel of health, turning it around to stay alive.
Then, in the 5th game, after trading perfects and pixels, Gosain narrowly edged out the win to reset the bracket, setting the stage for one of the most intense finals Tekken 8 has ever seen.
Grand Final Reset: Every Game Goes the Distance
The reset was nothing short of legendary. Every single game went to a final-final round. Gosain took the first two games, looking unstoppable.
But in the 5th round of Game 3, The Jon, sitting on almost no health, ducked a throw attempt on reaction, launched Gosain for a massive combo, and finished with a perfectly timed okizemi setup to steal the round and the game.
That clutch play sparked a comeback for the ages.
The Controversial Fourth Game
The fourth game will go down as one of the most controversial moments in Tekken 8 history. Gosain landed what should have been the title-winning combo, but it dropped at the wall, leaving the crowd gasping.
With just 1 HP, The Jon pulled off yet another miracle comeback, taking the round, and breaking Gosain’s momentum completely. It seemed like the Tekken Gods didn’t want this combo to land.
That round flipped the entire set on its head. The venue erupted. Commentators shouted over each other. Social media exploded within seconds.

The Final Game: The Jon’s Crown Moment
The 5th and final game didn’t go to the final-final round but remained a slugfest. Gosain took the first round convincingly, but The Jon answered with three straight rounds, showcasing world-class reads, clutch defense, and ice-cold composure.
When it ended, the crowd roared as The Jon stood tall, the champion of TWT 2025 Paradise Game Battle.
Pakistan’s Tekken Legacy Continues
This victory adds another legendary name to Pakistan’s already dominant Tekken scene. Following in the footsteps of Arslan Ash and Atif Butt, The Jon proved that the nation’s talent pool runs deep.
The TWT 2025 Grand Finals in Abidjan will be remembered not just for the comeback, but for the emotion, controversy, and magic that define why fans love Tekken.
