Telegram is giving its app a fresh coat of paint, starting with Android. The company has rolled out a fully redesigned interface that focuses on speed, clarity, and easier navigation. The update aims to make searches smoother and everyday actions feel more natural.
The biggest visual shift on Android is the new bottom navigation bar. Users can now jump between Chats, Settings, Profile, and other tabs with a single tap. As a result, moving across the app feels faster and more direct.
However, this update is not just about looks. Telegram says it completely rebuilt the interface code to improve efficiency and boost responsiveness. That means screens should load quicker and scrolling should feel smoother. Users can also visit Settings > Power Saving to maximize performance and extend battery life when needed.
Meanwhile, iOS users are getting their own set of upgrades. Telegram has redesigned the media viewer to improve how photos and videos appear. The app now includes new preview panels for sticker and emoji packs. It also brings updated context menus in user profiles and while selecting messages. On iPad, Telegram introduced a new keyboard shortcut. Users can now press ⌘+Enter to send messages instantly.
The update also changes how group ownership works. If a group owner leaves a chat, Telegram will automatically transfer ownership to one of the group’s admins after one week. Before leaving, the owner will see a confirmation window. This allows them to select a new group owner. In addition, owners can transfer control to another member without exiting the chat.
Telegram is also adding a gaming-style twist through a new crafting system. Users can combine existing collectible gifts to create upgraded versions. These include Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary items, each with unique artwork and effects.
The crafting interface allows users to add up to four gifts at a time. Each extra gift increases the chance of success. Moreover, using gifts with the same attributes improves the odds that those traits will appear in the final item. Users can buy and sell these collectible gifts through Telegram’s Gift Marketplace.
Bot developers are not left out. Telegram now lets them add emojis and colors to their buttons. This makes interfaces clearer and helps highlight specific actions inside bots. To access all these features, users must update Telegram from the official app store. The rollout covers Android devices, iPhones, and iPads.
